Water Request
1. Water pollution is when bodies of water get contaminated. The different types of pollution are, surface water pollution, oxygen depleting, groundwater, nutrients, microbiological, suspended matter, and chemical. When oceans, rivers, and lakes get polluted it is called surface water pollution. When to much biodegradable material is added to the water then the number of microorganisms increase and use up the the available oxygen depletion. Pesticides cause groundwater pollution. Nutrients can be found in waste water and fertilizers, and these can cause excess weed and algae growth. Microbiological is natural water pollution by microorganisms. Suspended matter is when the pollution isn't able to be absorbed in water because the molecules are too big. Chemical pollution is from agricultural and industrial work that runs off into the water.
2. Point source is a single source and a non-point has many sources.
3. Three causes of pollution is underground leakage, sewage, waste water, and radio active waste.
4. Suspended particles can often reduce the amount of sunlight that reaches the water disrupting growth of plants.
5. To help improve pollution, turn off tap, don't throw paint oils down the sink, environment friendly house products, don't litter, plant more plants, septic tank, ozone waste water treatment.
